It's difficult to say without more information from you.
- Do the new songs play in your iTunes Library?
- Have you previously added music from your CDs to this iPod, using the iTunes and computer that you're using now?
- How do you usually add music to your iPod, is it by:
- Sync (entire Library)
- Sync selected playlists, artists, albums and genres, or
- Manually Manage?
If you use option 2 above (sync selected playlists, artists, albums and genres), have you added the new songs to your selection?
