convert wav system sounds to aiff system sounds
is there a way to convert wav files to aiff files so that I can use them as system sounds?

Whether you'll be able to use them I don't know.
Audacity can convert them.
I don't think any of the built-in tools in macOS can convert from WAV.
Sorry. Barney is correct. I guess it's been awhile since i worked with wav files. As noted, Audacity will work.
