No, it's not recognized, that's why I'm asking. I've downloaded VueScan, but it doesn't seem to work, or maybe I have to pay for it before using it. Yet, on their website, it says that I can try it for free ... any other suggestions?
I have only tried VueScan many years ago, but I don't think that much has changed: you should be able to work in demo mode, to see if it works, but the software would put a watermark on the scans.
How is the scanner connected? If it has an option for USB, try that instead of wireless.
Does the scanner appear in System Information? (Hold down option key and choose System Information from the Apple menu; then click on USB)
As I mentioned it at the beginning of the tread, it's a muti function printer MP600 Canon.
I'm supposed to be able to scan with it, but Canon stopped supporting the drivers for it.
That's why I'm looking for an app or driver whatever that can help me out.
I've downloaded Gunterprint for the printing job, that works. I didn't have to unplug or do anything with the device, I just had to select the printer in the mac preference, and it worked.
But VueScan first of all took some time to open, but now just can't make it to screen an aperçu of what I want to scan?
So, is there an open-source driver or app scanning job?
Thanks anyway for your response.
LOL!
I would love to, but the machine still works and I find it a bit annoying to trash it. Personally, I use my iPhone or IPad to scan but got other people that would prefer to use a regular scanner.
Maybe you have an old mac lying in a closet that still works? Then you could attach the scanner to it.
If Vuescan doesn't work:
If the scanner is recognized by your mac you can usually scan with Preview, or Image Capture, that are already on your mac.
Sorry, apparently the last driver available from Canon is for Lion (10.7)!
VueScan would be the best bet, and since that does not seem to work, I don't know what will.
Thank you anyway.
I'll try to contact that company to get a response.
Some old Canons actually required a Canon driver before VueScan will work. By all means contact VueScan, they are very responsive.
Thank you for your answer!
I'll do that .
