Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter Triggers Voice Control on iPhone

The headphone that came with my iPhone has poor sound quality and does not fit in my ear.

To remedy this, I purchased the Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter so I would be able to use either my Sennheiser or Beats headphone, both of which have superior sound quality to the Apple EarPods with Lightning Connector Headphones that came with the phone.

However, whenever I plug in either the Sennheiser or Beats headphone, my headphones or if my headphone cable bounces against me/is a bit jiggled by walking, voice control is activated on my iPhone 8. Additionally, the song does not play to the end, and bounces around from song to song. This only happens when I use the adaptor.

Voice Control is switched off but the problem remains. Very annoying.

HELP!!!!!

Hello rbfrichards,

From your post it appears that you are having an issue with some non-Apple headphones when using with your iPhone.

Since the issue seems to occur when the cable is moved, would you have another adapter that you can test with?

If you use the adapter in another device with those headphones, does the same thing happen?

Being able to isolate where the problem is happening is the best way to find a solution.

Cheers!
