Hi I am getting "If your iPhone can’t be updated, you will need to restore it to its factory settings." message when trying to update in recover mode.

Hi My iPhone 6S has turned into brick, most like the storage is full. It is not responding anymore, and keep restarting. I am trying to update the phone in recover mode, but is failing with the following message

"If your iPhone can’t be updated, you will need to restore it to its factory settings."

This is happening because the storage is full. Is there a way to connect and free up the storage without going through Finder or iTunes?

If you still see the issue, after trying the steps in the article, we'd recommend using the link at the bottom to reach out to Apple Support.

Have a good day.
