Account creation failed and I can't access my macbook M1

I set up my Macbook last night. It is the first apple product I've owned in a long time so decided to create a new Apple ID during the process. Eventually, I got through the forms and it told me that account creation had failed and that I should try again. My Macbook froze so I turned it off and on again and now it isn't letting me set up an account it is asking me to log in though it won't accept my password. The macbook also won't accept my apple ID for resetting my password.

How do I go back to the start and remake an account that I can acesss?

Maybe am parsing words here but Computer Password is different than Apple ID Password. The computer password is independent from Apple ID and password.

Reset Computer Password

Intel Computer

1 - Restart computer and immediately hold Command + r keys

2 - Top Tool Bar >> Utilities >> Terminal

3 - Type resetpassword as one word and no spaces

4 - Press Return key

5 - Follow the prompts and remember the New Password

M1 Computer

1 - Choose Apple menu > > Shut Down.

2 - Press and hold the power button on your Mac until you see “Loading startup options.”

3 - Click Options, then click Continue.

4 - Top Tool Bar >> Utilities >> Terminal

5 - Type resetpassword as one word and no spaces

6 - Press Return key

7 - Follow the prompts and remember the New Password
