old apple id

I am unable to purchase apps because of an old email

and id. I am unable to delete and use new apple id - how do I get rid of old email.

Have you tried changing the email address on the old ID? Note the restrictions in the article.

 What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support  *  I suggest doing this before you change your Apple ID or password.


Why can't you use the old email? Have you tried signing out of the App Store/iTunes, restarting, and then signing back in with the desired Apple ID?
