Blocking spam messages

Unable to locate how to block spam messages/iMessages. Received a text message, that also went to 20 other number, about a house cleaning job, paying almost $200/hour. Can't seem to find the way to block this unknown number/sender. I tape the message item at the top, and go to info, but no way to "block" is listed. IOS 14.7.1.

Mostly they are from phone numbers, but sometimes they are coming from some weird email address. It seems like I'm blocking half a dozen (or more) numbers every day. Blocking a a Spam Text from a Spammer at the beginning I have read every single suggestion on there on how to block spam text to the Message app on iPhone. Let me first say up front the Apple suggestion to go the the Message section in Settings and to "Filter unknown Senders" does not work at all. I get 10-50 spam text emails per day and it is getting worse. Second, the Apple suggestion to block the call via "Hide Alerts" also does not work at all. I have over 500 blocked texters and I still get 5-25 texts per day on senders I have previously blocked. It is time for Apple to allow it users to truly block texts other than from those in your address book. Is that asking too much? Any other suggestions I am open to....

Block spam messages? Anyone know how I can block a spammer from sending me text messages? I don't get a lot of spam because I'm very careful who I give my number to, but just lately it's started. I can 'Hide alerts' and I can 'delete' but I cannot see how to actually block the messager. Thanks!

Block messages from a specific person or number

In a Messages conversation, tap the name or number at the top of the conversation, then tap. at the top right.
Tap info.
Scroll down, then tap Block this Caller.

There is no "Block this caller" listed at the bottom.
