Carplay music seekbar doesn't respond to touch?

Hello,

Anyone know why the seekbar does not respond to touch whilst playing music files via the apple music player in carplay? I listen to 2 hour continuous mixes and unlike just about every other music app, in carplay the seekbar does not respond to touch to skip through the music playing. E.g. touch the seekbar to skip forward 10 mins etc.

Anyone know why or if it will ever be made available on carplay? Or how I can put a feature request in to Apple to consider adding the functionality in a future update?

We understand that when using the Music app and CarPlay, you’re not able to fast forward through a song. Do we have that right?

Based on the following article, Play music with CarPlay you can press and hold the forward arrow to fast forward through a song. Do you find that to be true? Similar with the arrow that points to the left. When you press and hold it, it will rewind the current song.

Hi, many thanks for the response but just to clarify, no, that's not exactly what I meant.

Yes the arrow buttons work to either hold and fast forward or rewind. They also work to touch to skip to the next track or previous track.

What I'm referring to is the bar below that indicates the track length. In the iPhone music app itself you can tap that bar (seekbar, track progress bar - I'm not sure of its actual correct name) in any place and it will resume playback where you tap. This feature is not available in music/carplay and I wondered if or when it might be added please?
