Every time I click on a link or select something a new window opens up. So far this happens on chrome, discord, and safari. I’ve checked the extensions on both search engines resettled chrome to default, and I also deleted chrome. I haven’t found a fix yet and came here wondering if anyone could help.

Go to Safari > Safari (top left) > Preferences > General, and make sure everything there looks right.
Also, go to System Preferences > General, and make sure the "Prefer Tabs" setting is correct.
