macOS lags when adjusting keyboard brightness

MacBook Pro M1: when I'm adjusting the keyboard brightness from the touchbar (I didn't notice the issue when using the software slider) the whole system starts lagging for some seconds.

I didn't notice CPU/RAM usage peaks during the lags.

Software: macOS Big Sur 11.5.1 (20G80).

All running apps are freeze from Chrome to Activity Monitor and the fans begin to speed up heavily. If I try to click on Chrome to get it to respond, I get a spinning wheel for my cursor. I can easily repeat the bug consistently by setting the brightness low and then raising it back up. This had never been an issue prior to OS Big Sur, so I'm wondering whether this had to do with the newly installed OS software. Has anybody else had experience with this?

Brightness keeps changing on M1 Macbook Pro / Big Sur 11.1 Just got this new Mac Book Pro M1 and I've noticed an issue with the display brightness. I set it to a 90% level and after a while I notice that it has gotten darker. The brightness setting then shows a lower level. I've unchecked the "automatically adjust brightness" setting on the Display panel. Don't know where else to look. Did not have this issue on my older MBP with Catalina.

typing lag on mac pro out of nowhere my mac's keyboard began to lag. it happens every now and again, and after a few seconds a couple of the buttons i clicked while it was lagging will register. to clarify it is the built in keyboard because everything online was talking about bluetooth or wired ones. any similar issues or tips?

It sounds like you're experiencing performance issues when adjusting keyboard brightness. We can understand wanting to get that resolved. We want to help.
