have an iBook ready to upload to the Apple store, but cannot access iTunes Producer account with Safari 7. Upgrading the system not desirable and not using aggregators.
Is it possible to upload .iba files from a computer (my neighbor’s) that does not have iBooks application installed but has a current browser? Wont the .iba files appear grayed out as they do in the iPad (because it doesnt have an iBooks app)?

To convert you go to Export instead of Publish.

How about the Sample? Was it assembled during the process of Publishing? I remember selecting the jpegs, but not the whole process. I believe the sample was an .iba file.

I don't know exactly how the sample works, but anything you upload directly to the store can't be an .iba file, has to somehow be converted to an .epub.
You can't upload an iba file. You have to first convert that using iBooks Author to the .epub format (I don't know whether .iBooks format will work or not) Then you should be able to publish from another computer with the right browser.

Thank you, Tom, that was my plan, but when I go to “Publish” in iBooks, so that the file is converted, next window is … Sign in to your iTunes account, which I cannot do with Safari7. I think its hopeless unless I find someone with a more advanced version of Safari, but that still has iBooks installed.
