Helping a friend reset their iPhone and apparently she forgot her ICloud email and password. The activation lock is on. I tired the basic steps but unfortunately the last step is the activation part. Any one know what to do

If you are not the owner and do not have the Apple ID and Password then there is no way that you can get into this iPhone unless the original owner shares the Apple ID and password with you. If you are lucky you can get into this iPhone if they (owner) accidentally remove the device from their Apple ID.

The thing is that one cannot bypass the Activation Lock. Activation Lock can only be removed by entering the right password to the Apple ID hint that is provided.
