I cannot log in to my computer (MacBook Air) as the keyboard is partly typing wrong letters and some of the keys do not function at all. Has anybody faced the same issue and can it be fixed?

Can you provide specifics about the wrong letters being type?
Try an external keyboard (doesn't have to be from apple).
The top line keys type the same letters as the bottom line (Q=>Z, W=>X etc.) and on the middle line, only three keys are functioning (typing correct letters/symbols), rest of them type nothing
