Why does my 64g phone constantly run outta cloud storage of 1 TB

How do I transfer my storage from iPhone 11 Pro w/ 64g to my new iPhone 12 mini w/ 256g w/o a MacBook to back it up?

It’s usually internal storage that runs out, not iCloud. Apps can’t always directly use iCloud, and many have to at least cache some of the iCloud resident data locally, and that caching requires local storage. How do I transfer my storage from iPhone 11 Pro w/ 64g to my new iPhone 12 mini w/ 256g w/o a MacBook to back it up?


There are various ways. If you should choose the Wi-Fi path (and not iCloud backup or a Microsoft Windows backup), make sure that the Wi-Fi network you use for the transfer here is very stable. This can be a lot of data transferred quickly, and ~flaky Wi-Fi networks and ~marginal Wi-Fi routers can burble.

iCloud storage is tied to your Apple ID, not to any particular device. You can use multiple devices for iCloud storage as long as you use the same Apple ID/iCloud account on all of the devices.


You don’t need a Mac to backup the old phone. You can use a PC running iTunes or you can use iCloud.
