STOLEN PHONE REPORTING LOCATION BUT WONT GO INTO LOST MODE

My IPhone 12 Pro Max was stolen in Mexico. I immediately got on another device and activated lost mode, I observed my phone reporting it’s location for days with the messaging showing “Lost Mode Pending” the device traveled from Puerta Vallarta Mexico to Mexico City. It only stopped reporting locations when I removed it from the trusted devices! Obviously apples security has issues! It won’t go into lost mode but I could track it on find my iPhone!

I can’t upload the screenshots on my iPhone because they exceed apples photo limit size! That seems peculiar!

Why wouldn’t this system allow it to place the iPhone into lost mode then! I found it hard to believe a thief would keep it charged and take it on 1,000 mile journey for no reason.

According to this Article a Brazilian gang had successfully found an ability to circumvent and hack the iPhone!

Because to put the phone in Lost mode the phone needs to be connected to the Internet. The Find My Network does not require that your phone be connected to the Internet, only that it be powered on. And no one took it on a 1,000 mile journey. They shipped it somewhere that it can be fenced outside of the territory of an IMEI blacklist, just in case you blacklisted it with your carrier, which I hope you did.
