I need an APP for my iPhone that will block scammers and low-life callers from constantly disrupting my phone.

There are apps that will help a little, but there is no general solution. See if your carrier has a spam blocking app such as AT&T’s Call Protect. There are also several 3rd party apps, the oldest and most respected is nomorobo. But it’s an almost impossible problem, because spammers can use a different phone number for each call, so blocking phone numbers is useless.
If your contact list has everyone you expect to get calls from go to Settings/Phone and turn on Silence Unknown Callers. With this enabled all calls from numbers not in your contacts will go to voicemail.

Thanks for the info. My phone is an iPhone 6+ and I bought it brand new in Nov 2017 so its not 8 years old. I have continued to use it because it works well, I chose to spend my money $1,000 plus on more useful things than the latest iPhone (way over priced in my humble opinion). My next phone will not be an iPhone and will not cost anywhere near what a new iPhone costs today.

Thanks for the help. I went to Settings/Phone but no option to Silence Unknown Callers. I have ISO 12 +.
That feature was added in iOS 13. Sorry, that’s the problem with a 8 year old phone.
The iPhone 6 Plus was released in September 2014. The phone may be new to you, but it is not a new phone.
