Deleting groups of contacts that are stored locally on an iPhone

When setting up my new iPhone I accidentally saved a copy of all my contacts on the iPhone itself. Now, I have a group of contacts stored locally on my iPhone (can't delete it on icloud.com). How can I delete said group?

Remove all the email accounts from your device and all contacts are gone from your iPhone.

Unlike some Android devices, contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in SIM. They are synced to an email account that you had Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other
