Im resintalling macOS and all recovery options lead to online recovery. But when reinstalling macOS the bar stops at around 90% and timer goes up to hundreds of hours. I event left it over night for a few days but its stuck there so definetly some kind of issue.
is there any way I can fix this?

Yes, don't use Wi-Fi to do the download. It's too slow and the files are too large. They often get corrupted and then won't load properly. Use a wired Ethernet connection for OS updates and upgrades. If the problem still persists, then investigate an internet problem with the internet provider.
