Axel - You are EXACTLY right! The iPhoneX had an Apple wallet and that closed and shut off the phone and the new iPhone 12 Pro has a wallet from a third party (made in China as are a lot of our Apple products). They DID NOT advertise that the case would do this. Which Apple case are you referring to? I want a wallet case with three slots that will hold my drivers license, auto insurance card, medical insurance cards and one credit card. Also a slot for a $20 bill. This way I don't have to take a wallet as everything is in the case. The Apple iPhone 12 Pro also acts as a Phone-As-A-Key for my 2021 Mustang Mach E so I don't need a FOB anymore either; just the phone in its case (the iPhoneX did this too).
I cannot directly contact the manufacturer as they are in China. The case was produced in their factory and shipped when I ordered it. I tried holding the cover of my iPhone X wallet over the screen to see if it would turn my phone off and it DID NOT. Therefore, I assume the iPhone 12 Pro won't do this and it's not dependent on what wallet case the phone is in. What is a sleeve type case? Where would my cards go? In a magnet wallet held on back of the "sleeve"? I don't like this design as the "wallet" could pull off the sleeve because it is only held on by a magnet. That is one big reason I bought a third party case and the other is cost. Apple charges a lot more for their cases.
Let me know if Apple makes a wallet case (the Apple rep on the phone yesterday said they did) and if so, whether you know if it works like the one did with my iPhone X. I didn't see a wallet case when I looked at them briefly.
Thank you for your help.
