Big Sur: Unable to search Calendar events apart from 'Today'

Since upgrading to Big Sur, I cannot search my calendar for past or future events. It only searches today's events ('Today' appears in red below the search bar). Any idea how to fix this? The events have not disappeared, I just can't search them.
