Erasing data and restoring iPhone X to factory settings.

I began restoring my iPhone X to factory settings and the loading process is unchanged or well over 2 hours. I can still hear the vibration alert when I plug in cable to charge it, but it won't connect to devices like my computer. The phone is completely un working and stuck on the loading screen with apple logo. I tried hard resetting, alas did not work. Any insight would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!
