Apple Mail SMTP Client not using TLSv1.3

With the support of TLSv1.3 used at the OS level, why is Apple Mail's SMTP client still using TLSv1.2? I don't see any option to change this. Using the same device with Thunderbird it is using 1.3.

We don’t have any more insight into why Big Sur is defaulting to TLSv1.2 and not TLSv1.3 than you do. The folks that do work for Apple on development or on product management don’t usually post here. Again, you will want to log your feedback with Apple, as they may or may not see your queries posted here. Or have a look at the available Monterey beta. Or both.

I've already submitted the feature request via the feedback link. What is your basis for claiming that Apple developers don't usually post here? Do you know the occupation of every user here? Do you guys usually speak on behalf of the entire community?

Big Sur is not defaulting to 1.2, which is what I said from the first post. It's only happening in the Mail SMTP client as far as I can see. Safari, for example, is in fact using 1.3.
