How do I disable character previews for passwords?

Normally when I type there are no character previews, and my settings reflect that, but when I type a password in it seems to ignore that setting and the character popups throw me off and cause typos! Please show me where the setting is to disable it in this specific instance. If there isn't one, please direct me to the proper method of modification for the iPhone 12, as I can't stand being told not to tamper with my own property.

(begin rant)

Thankfully (if I had one) the warranty legally cannot be voided unless they show in a court of law that my modifications directly caused the failure, as is precedented with cars. Seriously, if there isn't a setting to disable obnoxious popup char previews for passwords I am willing to do what is necessary to modify my own property to change that. Just like I can (and have) with my car, desktop computer, or dwelling.

That last part is moot if someone can just direct me to the proper setting. General>Preview>Character Preview is already off.
