Macbook 2019 - No HDMI Signal

Recently, I wasn't able to connect my external monitor (Dell S2421HN) to my MacBook pro (Catalina 10.15.6) suddenly. It says no HDMI signal detected from device. Upgraded the software to Big Sur as per apple support asked and still the same.

Tried various methods: SMC reset, safe mode restart, nvram, create new user etc but not working still.

Using an third party adaptor to connect HDMI to macbook.

Please help...

The problem I have is that it will intermittently work. Sometimes I connect the HDMI cable to the mac and the external monitor connects. More commonly however, there is a 'no signal' message on the monitor or both screens (mac and external monitor) go black. It is very frustrating as I would like to use the external monitor. Macbook Air recognizes display but display returns no HDMI signal Hello, I am having issues connecting my Macbook Air to an external monitor using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable. The Mac recognizes the display but the display itself does not find an HDMI connection. The display otherwise works for a Macbook Pro I have on a USB-C to USB-C connection. I've tried multiple output displays, all of which have the same error. I've also tried scaling the display to all of the possible options in System Prefs. I do not have any other older Mac devices that also have a Mini DisplayPort to check the input. I don't believe my Macbook Air has any other ports that offer video output.
