Am I killing my new MacBook Pro's battery?

After years of not having a Mac PC anymore, Friday I finally got my brand new M1 MacBook Pro 13" to finally switch over to final cut for video editing!

One thing I noticed, is that while I'm editing (and I am also using a USB-C hub to connect a mouse, bigger monitor and the SD Card), the battery drains like crazy, it can reach the 30s in about an hour, so I HAVE to keep it plugged in while working!

Tho, in order to not having it plugged in all the time, when I'm done I unplug it and if I resume working later on, I plug it again... Is all of that plug unplug killing my battery?

I've never been super friendly to laptops, and honestly if I didn't have to bring it with me around, I would've bought a Mac mini, so how should I behave, in order to work on final cut for hours, but at the same time not kill the battery?

All of my previous laptops, including a late 2008 MacBook, had their batteries dead at some point for this horrible practice, but now I can't help it, if the USB hub and final cut drain it while I work...

Ah one extra thing I wanted to add, is that I am generally gonna use it for almost whole days, and I close the lid when I go AFK or at night when I go to bed, should I turn it off at night instead? Doesn't seem it drains the battery at all, as I am finding it at 100% every morning so far (I also unplug the USB hub, because I noticed it gets very hot and drains the battery even while sleeping) 🤔
