MacBook Pro 2018 (Big Sur) types with a lag and runs slow

Hey,

I got several problems with my MacBook pro 2018 lately. First, it sometimes gets unusually slow when opening, for example, pdf documents or Word files.

But the biggest (and most annoying issue) has been that using CapsLock key worked badly. When I want to type a capital letter, the Mac does not respond at once although I am continuing typing. After a lag of about 30 sec, the text finally appears. I tested this problem in Safari, in Word, and in RStudio - all apps suffer form this typing problem. The problem disappears right after I have restarted the Mac, but if I do not restart for a day, it will come around again.

I would appreciate any help with this problem. I can't restart the computer everyday, I often have projects running and can't shut them down.

Details: this is not a memory problem, I still have 20% of the hard disk empty and I quit the apps I am not using.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.5

To trouble shoot further you can:

—Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc.

Login and test. Reboot as normal. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

In Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, it removes malware, etc hampering smooth operation, however a reboot will put it back to normal mode.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-up-other-users-on-your-mac-mtusr001/mac

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus
