MacBook Pro No sound over HDMI
MacBook Pro 2018 13" OS 11.4 sound only plays on MacBook and not on TV. Any suggestions?
Using a J5 Create multifunction connector to output from thunderbolt connection to HDMI.

I discovered the answer to my question. To output the audio to the TV, I needed to first go into System Preferences, select Sound, and switch to the TV speaker.
I had been chalking the lack of audio on the TV to a possible conflict with the J5 Create but tried a Moshi USB-C to HDMI adapter and had the same problem -- that led me to looking in the System Preferences. Why I didn't look there first, I don't know.
