my mac won't stop trying to cancel diagnostics - won't shut down

Started Mac diagnostics on Activity Monitor and then cancelled it. Activity Monitor is now stuck on cancelling the diagnostics - can't even restart or shut down as the Activity Monitor is busy cancelling - been going on for 15-20 minutes now

System diagnosis freezed up Hi, I just made a system diagnosis on my MacBook and cancelled it, and now it doesn't close up the Activity Monitor, I tried to restart my Mac but it didn't work because its still cancelling the diagnosis. Do I have to wait or I can do something to get out of that?

Monterey 12.3 Unexpected Shutdown After upgrading my 2017 iMac to Monterey 12.3, after it sits for a period of time of inactivity while running screensaver, it automatically shuts down; can’t be reactivated by pressing a key without having to press the power-on button. My Mac did not have this problem with Monterey 12.2. Are other Mac owners experiencing this problem?

Please restart in Save Mode, for instruction on how to do this please click Safe Mode Reset . Once restarted in Safe Mode, please restart normally and retest your Mac.
