If I am adding my partner to a family music plan, as we each had individual plans, does this automatically cancel their subscription and links to mine?
His still says individual but is linked to my family sharing music account.
His should automatically cancel once he accepts the invitation to join your Family Music Plan.
Do not cancel them manually as he may loose playlists and songs downloaded if the subscription stops being active.
