Hey so while I was editing a very big project in final cut on my mac mini my mac crashed and apparently damaged the library. Now when i try to get back into that project it comes up with a message saying the library is damaged and the project cannot be read. I am a new final cut user and forgot to backup my project so now I don't know how to be able to retrieve the project. Any ideas?

Try a Timestamped backup.
The default location is in your Users>Home folder>Movies >Final Cut Backups>(Library Name).
These are Data Base only and have no media included.
Make sure any required media drives are active.

Hold the Option key and a window appears asking you to open a Library or create a New one.
Open one that is not having issues, is the performance OK?
If you only have one Library, create a new one and trial a test Project to determine if FCPro is behaving OK.

I did exactly what Alchroma told me to do. I found the library and opened it in final cut and the exact same message popped up saying the project could not be read
