App Store, "Cannot Connect To The App Store" message.

Hello. While logged into the App Store, if I go to the "Purchased" tab, I keep getting the "Cannot Connect To The App Store" message. This is a merry-go-round. My daughter has the same problem. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Hi GraGtr,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having an issue with connecting to the App Store. We're happy to help.

We recommend viewing and completing the steps here: If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services

You'll also want to be sure your Mac or any other devices you're attempting to connect with have a strong working connection.

If your Mac doesn't connect to the Internet over Wi-Fi

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

You may also be able to check your purchases from a different device with the steps here: See your purchase history for the App Store, iTunes Store, and more

Cheers!

Hi GraGtr,

Thanks for the information. Currently there are no system outages, yet you can always double check using the page here: Apple - System Status

If you continue to have an issue access your information and if you're using an iOS device, test force closing the App Store and a normal restart of your device. The articles below can assist:

Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

Restart your iPhone

Hi OrigamiFan1. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have a very good internet connection over WiFi, in fact I'm using it right now and am actually logged into the App Store under my profile where I can see my account details etc. As soon as I hit the "Purchased" tab, I get the "Cannot Connect To The App Store" message. I'm understand Apple are aware of this issue but really behave like a secret society at times and really offer no assistance unless you have the latest machine with the latest OS. My instincts tell me that this should be solvable.

Yes blindedByBeuller, it's frustrating! Your experience is identical to mine and what appears to be that of many other people. While responses recommending I check my internet connection and upgrade to the latest OS may be well intentioned, I find it strange because writing this post requires an active internet connection and already being logged into the App Store to view my Profile yet unable to view Purchases seems very strange. I know Apple could help with this, but sadly I believe they don't want to in hope you'll just go out and buy a new machine. Planned obsolescence I'm afraid.
