Hi there! I am a subscriber to Google One services which also helps me backup my files on multiple devices on to Google Drive. On iCloud I can see it offers only backup for device data (pwds, etc.), photos and applications. Can I upload files like Word dox, PPTs, Excel sheets, etc. on to iCloud? If yes; how do I do it?

Be sure you understand that the document is synced to iCloud. If you delete it from one device, it gets deleted from iCloud as well.
