Im experiencing a huge language switching lags using CapsLock. It works fine after restarting but appears after some time again. macOS Big Sur 11.5.1
It seems its been introduced with the latest upgrade, because on the previous version I haven’t noticed that lag.
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.5
It will happen even when Caps Lock is disabled. You can notice how the lag also affects the volume control. And it adds a lag when switching apps.
I've got it as well. Lots of people have it in 11.5 and 11.5.1.

Do you see the same problem when using other possible shortcuts for this function, like Control Space or the Fn key?

well, just switched off CapsLock switcher for the language and returned back the default settings-> language is switching fine with control +space. But noticed, that CapsLock itself is hanging on the system for a while when I pressed it a few times
