If you own a 2013 iPad Air 1st gen or iPad Mini 2 or 2014 iPad Mini 3 that is stuck at some version of iOS 12, currently at 12.5.4, then your version of Apple iOS Safari is updated as far as it is possible.

Try another third party Web browser from the iOS App Store.

Look at Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome for iOS/iPadOS or one of my new favorites, ALook Web browser.

Other third party Web browsers still compatible with iOS 12, as well.

A little hard to help/advise you when you provide NO information about your iPad.

Here are my questions to you.

Can you, please, confirm what year and model iPad do you have/own?

The “A” model number can be found on the aluminium back of your iPad, in very small print, right under the larger bold print “iPad” on the back of the iPad.

What iOS/iPadOS version is this iPad, currently, running?

What is the rated, internal data storage space/capacity of your iPad model and how much of this free, internal data storage capacity is left inside of your iPad model?

All of that additional info can be found in the Settings app, General settings panel, About.

Please try to attempt to answer all questions asked.

Thank You.

Safari is an integral element of iOS/iPadOS - and cannot be updated independently of the OS. If your iPad has been updated to the most recent version supported by your iPad, then Safari is as up-to-date as is possible.

However, some websites incorrectly identify your iOS/iPadOS Safari User Agent when used in one or other of its browsing modes - of which their are two - these being Desktop and Mobile.

It’s easy to switch between modes if a website isn’t functioning correctly. From the desired web-page, touch the aA icon at the left of the Address Bar; this will reveal a menu. From the menu select Website Settings, then select (or deselect) Request Desktop Website, then tap Done. Now refresh the webpage.

The chosen setting will be saved for the selected website - and can be simply reversed if needed.
