Iphone x screen dimming

I’vs iphone x, battery 84%. Works fine but when I open camera app or snapchat camera, the phone works perfectly fine for 5-7 mins and after that screen dims about 60% brightness.

Auto brightness is off

Tried using true tone on and off but nothing happened

is that my phone is faulty?

Its still water resistant and never opened

iPhone X, iOS 14

It will happen on every iPhone X that is in a hot environment and the phone’s internal heat generation raises the temperature close to the maximum operating temperature spec for the phone. Note that the camera generates a lot of heat, so this is more likely to happen when the camera has been on continuously for a while.

There is another feature that will dim the screen; it’s called “Attention Aware”. If you are not looking at the screen (and it can tell because of the Face ID feature) it will dim the screen until it senses that you are looking at it again. You can turn this feature off in Settings/Accessibility or Settings/Face ID & Password.

no this just happend in a hot day about 35c temp outside while using camera and also happend 2 days later while I was driving a hot car, the car was kept in direct sunlight and there was vaccume created in car and I started to take snaps using snapchat and than after 7 mins the phone screen dims to 50%.

I was using s8plus before this and iphone 6s both didn’t get dimmed at any condition except in nights

That makes sense; the 6S and 8 series have LCD screens, which run much cooler than the OLED screen on the X and newer phones.
