I think I didn't explain my problem well enough.

I open "Health app">Summary (or Browse)>Steps. Once in Steps I scroll down - I see "Steps Apps"-below than "Options" under Options there is 'Add to Favorites' ; Shows All Data; and "Data Sources & Access"which none are showing

I believe it should be showing my iphone.

Now, when I return to the Summary page and click on my Profile and Scroll down to Privacy, I find 3 choices: Apps, Research Studies, and Devices. Clicking on Devices, I find my iphone.

When I return to Settings for my iphone and click on the Health app I see that I am allowing 'Health Access" to Siri and Notifications. Under Medical Details, I have filled in all data requested. Ditto with "Medical ID". And under "Data Access & Devices", Apps include the Health app and Devices include my iphone.

I'm at a loss as to what I have missed to get the various Activity (sub apps) within the Health app to track me.

Your phone should display under data sources. As well as any apps used for say, running and cycling, are data sources.

If you go to Settings > Health > Data access & devices you should see individual apps. Drilling down into any app will display "allow to write" and "allow to read." That's what populates activity within health.

You'll also see devices, if you scroll down.

Check the settings to make sure devices are active
