Why can't iMac recognize this apple wireless keyboard when the MAC Book pro does?Bluetooth turned on

Try unpairing the keyboard from the previous Mac, the MacBook Pro? Click the Bluetooth icon on the MBP, select the keyboard and then Forget This Device. Then try again to pair it with the new Mac.
