Network Troubleshooting:

A Few Thoughts:

A. Range Extender:

Get a range extender - it amplifies the signal, making it stronger. Be certain it meats the maximum speed of your router.

B. Power Off the Router:

If your connection is seemingly slow, then power off the router for 30 seconds, and then power it back on.

C. Time for a New Router?:

If your router is weak, when you are next to it, then it could be failing too. If you do gaming and streaming, then get one High-End made for such use. If you just browse the web, then just get one that at least has a strong signal, if you live in a house. Get one at your local retailer.

General Troubleshooting:

A. Reset your SMC and your NVRAM:

Sometimes changes are made to the system and then settings (i.e. for Wi-Fi) become corrupted, in the meanwhile. So, reset both on your Mac. See where it goes from there. It’s worth a go.

B. Try clearing your Temporary Internet Files. (History and Cache - Apple Discussion).

C. Uninstall Security Software:

Any Security Software installed on your computer? If so, uninstall it. Use the Uninstaller for to do so, getting the Uninstaller directly from my Developer’s site, as getting it else where may result in Malware or Spyware being installed. If you are uncertain which to download, then as the Developer. What is it doing is running you through VPN (Virtual Private Network), and your location is seen elsewhere — perhaps a location that this site is inaccessible to.

D. Scan your Mac for Malware:

Use MalwareBytes for Mac --- This is software that searches for malware/adware. So, scan with it and then remove what is found. Once removed, uninstall MalwareBytes for Mac. Then restart the Mac.

Downloads:

  1. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac
  2. Malwarebytes Uninstaller

E. If none of the above work, then...

Try Using a New Administrator User:

See what happens when you create a new Administrator User and login to it and perform the above. If it works, then it is something mid configured in your current user. So, move everything over to this new user, and then delete this user you are currently logged into.
