I lost all my contacts and my iPhone backup is not on, how can I retrieve my contacts

If you synchronized your contacts to iCloud, try recovering them there. Visit iCloud.com. Click on account settings and scroll to the bottom. You'll see some recovery options on the left. You need to use a computer or iPad to access recovery details.

Oh, and be sure to back up your phone.

I have lost two thirds of my contacts and I not know what happened. Apple said all would be safe and backed up. I Had important doctor numbers not in book. I got some from I cloud but not many. My phone was breached and also the could have been remove from cleaning. I’m afraid to clean now. Could you help me with my contacts please.?
