not all images printing in pages document

Hi , a few months ago after one of the updates my pages documents starting playing up. The images are there in the document but not all images will print. I then have spent hours replacing the images in the documents, also some of the text doesn't print out when it is in the document on the screen. I am not very tech savvy. I write instructions and use the pages on my laptop to do this. It is taking me ages to now print each document as I have to replace photos and check every page I print out to check what is missing on the printed page. HELP

Thank you for your the response, if you read what I wrote above , some photos print out and others do not . So on a page a few photos will get missing. They are on the document on the laptop but missing when printed.

Q:

Pages won’t print one image in a document

I created a document in Pages that has text and multiple photos. Everything prints just fine except for one of the photos. In that space, only the photo frame prints surrounding blank space. Strangely, that photo (and all others) does print when black and white is selected.

I have tried verifying the format and settings for that photo are the same as the others, moving the photo to a different spot in the document, replacing the photo, and completely deleting and re-inserting the photo. I have saved to pdf and printed the document from other devices. Every time, that specific frame prints blank.

I’m tired of wasting paper and ink to see if the latest attempt worked. Any ideas?

Hi Sandie-Mirabai,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are unable to print Pages documents that contains photos. We want to help with that.

First, take a look at this helpful resource: Print a document or envelope in Pages on Mac - Apple Support

If your print job is missing images when you print in color, but images are visible when you print in black-and-white, I would suggest this sounds like an issue with your printer, possibly the print driver or with depleted cartridges. Are you able to print a PDF in full color without losing images in the printed product? I would verify that your printer cartridges/toner are installed correctly and not completely depleted, especially the color cartridges. I would then verify that your printer is accurately described/listed in your list of installed printers. Regardless, I might suggest that you delete the installed printer, then reinstall it. This may clear up issues with the installed printer driver if, in fact, that’s the issue. If you’re still having problems, then your issue may be with how Pages is configured for printing. Would you please verify that you’ve checked for the above-described issues and advise if you’re still having problems? If so, perhaps we can focus our attention, specifically, on Pages. Good luck!

I didn’t realize the issue you were having was with Pages for iPad since this issue was posted in the Pages for Mac forum. That’s not a problem, though. I have an iPad with the same iOS and same Pages versions you cited. My iPad is a 6th generation, but I doubt the hardware has anything to do with the issue you’ve described. With that said, I’ve not been able to replicate the issue and I’ve, so far, been able to print Pages documents containing photos, color or black-and-white, without any issues.

Since we’re talking about the iPad version of Pages, when you print the documents that create problems for you, is the correct printer listed as the one to which the print job is being sent? Have you used your iPad to print to an old printer, yet purchased a new one that is creating the problem you’ve described? Is it properly listed in the print dialogue that appears when you print? If you’re printer is made by Hewlett-Packard, there is a print utility you can download for free from the App Store called, “HP Smart.” The program is published by Hewlett-Packard and may help you resolve this issue. My other suspicion, if all other issues have been ruled out, is that the Pages document may not be properly formatted. For that, you will likely need someone to actually look at the document to determine if the problem is caused by a formatting issue.
