I have Japanese physical layout in my MacBook pro and I am using Australia input source issue.

I have Japanese physical layout in my macbook pro and I am using Australia input source. Could you please tell me how can I use character like ~ and ‘. In general layout there is a dedicated for those character present beside key 1. Also is there a way to map these character to unused keys?

Use the Keyboard Viewer on Mac - Apple Support.

Hope that helps to locate the characters for other languages, and special characters and symbols, on your keyboard.
