Iphone 11 call listening problem

Last month when answering a call, I noticed that I really couldn't hear the other person talking. I checked the call volume and it was up all the way. I went into settings / sounds & haptics to make sure everything was up and still couldnt increase the level of sound coming though in a call. I have restarted, hard rebooted and today have done the new update and there's no change in what I can hear while on a call.

On speaker sound works fine along with initial call ringer volume. The phone has not been dropped nor has received any current trauma, just cant hear during calls.

Help...what can I do to increase the volume of the person on the other end?

Ps: Also had my partner use the phone to see if it was my actual hearing and it's not. Totally the phone.

Thanks!

Hi Shannon,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

We are happy to help with the issue you are having with not being able to hear callers well or increase your volume. Great to hear that you have update your device and tried a few things. Does the same thing happen if you use headphones with your phone? Does it happen with music?

We recommend you try Cleaning your iPhone.

Hope that helps!
