Password AutoSUBMIT functionality (not autoFILL) in Safari

I used to be able to select a password to autofill in Safari, and it would populate AND also autosubmit. Meaning, it would fill in my password and also click the login button or effectively hit ENTER.

Now it only autofills and I have to click the login button manually. Has this functionality been removed? I'm in Catalina on an iMac (late 2015).

So to be clear, I do not have a problem with autofill. It is autofilling correctly. The problem is that AFTER it autofills, it no longer also autoSUBMITS the password.

Have notice same also on latest Catalina and Safari. Do not believe the AutoSubmit was removed from Safari but rather the Websites and taking precaution in their website coding to avoid this.

More and more are turning to the annoying " Choose a picture with Stairs" or Choose a picture with Stop Lights "

That would make sense except that it's on EVERY website. I actually can't find any websites that allow for AutoSubmit anymore. That makes me think it has to do with Safari. Does anyone know anything about AutoSubmit functionality and whether it was removed?
