I have a Panasonic plasma TVs.
See what the TV manual says about support for CEC (VIERA Link).
It’s a brand new apple HD TV.
Did that come with the Siri Remote (2nd generation), that has the power button?

Either use the Setting to activate turning on the TV through the Siri Remote (2nd generation),
or activate HDMI-CEC to have compatible equipment follow the power-on/-off state of the Apple TV box. If you can't control your TV or receiver with your Apple TV Remote - Apple Support

I just figured out that you don’t use the power button. If I just use the tv button on the remote and put it in sleep mode. It controls my tv also! Thank you
