You can screen shot the document and convert that if necessary.
Take a screenshot on your Mac - Apple Support:

Or you can print the doc to a .pdf file and convert from there.

Here's a thought for future reference. If the document is too long to fit within a single screenshot, you might try scaling the document view to something smaller (75% or 50%, for example) before taking the screenshot.

Thank you! The screen shot worked but I had to make 2 because it was a whole page which was longer than one screen. I got it sent as a text which was the reason I wanted to know how to do this.
