My 2015 iMac has an extremely slow HDD so I use an external 1TB SSD for everything. I want to use Windows 10 alongside macOS, however, Bootcamp says "External storage device attached", not allowing me to install Windows. Is there a way to get Bootcamp to work using an external drive? Thanks.

Neither Microsoft nor Boot Camp support installing Windows 10 on an external drive.
Apple does not officially support installing Windows on external storage. You will need to look for third-party solutions. Also, do you have an option to replace the HDD with an SSD?
