is there imovie training available from Apple or private parties virtual or classroom in the MD area ?

There may be an iMovie virtual training session available from an Apple store in your area. (Due to Covid, Apple's training sessions are virtual rather than in person.) To find out availability in your area, go to Apple's Today at Home website:

Scroll down to "See All Upcoming Sessions" and click on View Calendar. You will be able to type in your state and choose from an Apple store near you to see what sessions are available. I did a very brief search on the website but didn't find any iMovie courses in Annapolis or Bethesda. You can try it yourself. Or, you might call an Apple Store near you and inquire about an iMovie course. The people there should be able to direct you.

Otherwise, as Ian says, there are lots of video tutorials that you can view on You Tube. Also, there is a good online help menu with a good search feature that you can find here:

It is unlikely that you will find personal tutors for iMovie but the next best thing would be a good video tutorial.

YouTube has large numbers of tutorials, some good and some bad.
