It has been my experience these devices only respond when paired with an App on the iPhone or Android phone and do not speak directly to Macs or PCs. You can install on Google Chrome in your account the App for later user from Chrome, but it is the phone or tablet that supports it better. One thing that might be interesting is the fact the M1 Macs now support iOS Apps. It may be possible to run the Google app for the iPhone on the M1 Mac.
