When I open messages one friends initials sit at the top in large font grey circle. How do I rid of this? What did I do lol?

When i open up my list of text msgs there is a large icon at that top with the initials of one of my contacts whose text i am not viewing

We understand that when you’re using the Messages app on your device, you’re seeing an icon with your friends initials at the top of the screen. We’d be happy to help.


Are you seeing this icon when viewing a conversation between you and your friend? If so, this is expected behavior. The icon that you’re seeing at the top is your friends contact information. You can customize it by adding information and even a photo if you’d like. If you don’t personalize it, it will show as a circle containing a letter or initials of the contact.
